BariAir Therapy System
An integrated therapy system for the immobile bariatric patient
The BariAir™ Therapy System is an integrated therapy system designed to help manage the clinical challenges of immobile bariatric patients. Featuring low air loss therapy, rotation, pulsation and percussion, BariAir is designed to help clinicians manage the complex bariatric patient.
Features/Benefits
The BariAir offers features designed to prevent the complications of immobile bariatric patients in the critical care environment:
- Low air loss22 surfaces distribute pressure and help to regulate the skin microclimate. Achieving the optimal range of skin temperature and humidity is a vital factor in the prevention and control of pressure ulcers.
- Continuous lateral rotation (CLRT) therapy distributes pressure by constantly changing pressure points
- Pulsation therapy23,24,25 mimics the body’s natural movements to improve blood and lymph flow, thereby increasing oxygenation and reducing oedema
- Percussion therapy26,27 helps loosen pulmonary secretions and reduces the need for manual intervention
- GORE® Medical Fabric helps maintain skin integrity by keeping it cool and dry and also serves as an effective barrier to fluid and bacteria
- Expandable bed width adapts to different patient sizes, giving improved comfort, safety and dignity of care
- Cardiac chair positioning facilitates up-in-chair provision, which may give better pulmonary position
- Battery backup provides two hours of uninterrupted operation during transport and power cuts
- X-ray cassette holder eliminates unnecessary patient transfers
